Our leadership team

Velisarios Kattoulas

CEO & Director

Veli is an entrepreneur and an investor in early-stage companies. Prior to Lanturn, Veli started, ran and sold companies in Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong. Most recently, in 2010 he founded a consulting business in Hong Kong that worked for leading banks, private equity firms, asset managers and multinationals. He scaled it to more than a hundred clients before selling it to governance, risk and compliance firm Exiger in 2016. Veli has an economics degree, and he speaks English, Greek and Japanese.

Maryana Hutchinson

Director of Operations

Maryana has more than a decade of experience in trade, corporate services, and fund administration. Maryana is a Registered Qualified Individual, accredited by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) in Singapore, and she has worked for companies ranging from technology startups to mid-market multinationals. Prior to Lanturn, she worked in fund administration at a leading global fund administrator. Maryana has a degree in finance and economics, and she speaks English and Russian.

Dharini Jegadeesan

Head of Corporate Secretarial Services

Dharini is a Chartered Secretary accredited by the Chartered Secretaries Institute of Singapore, and a Registered Qualified Individual accredited by the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) in Singapore. Prior to joining Lanturn, Dharini spent three years at a leading corporate services firm. Dharini has a postgraduate degree in commerce, and she speaks English, Tamil and Telugu.

Chris Laxton

Head of Accounting

Chris spent three years working at a Big Four audit firm, and is a Chartered Accountant. Prior to Lanturn, Chris was Finance Manager at a major re-seller of marine and petroleum products and services. In that role, Chris oversaw financial reporting for five offices across APAC with annual revenues of more than USD1 billion. Chris has an honours degree in accounting and finance, and a postgraduate degree in accounting, and he speaks English and Afrikaans.

Mervin Tan

VP Engineering (Zave)

Mervin has more than six years of experience building technology, and recruiting, leading, and mentoring engineering teams. In his current role, Mervin developed the Zave corporate and fund services platform from scratch. He designed platform architecture, planned and implemented back-end infrastructure, and developed back-end APIs, and front-end portals. Mervin has a degree in computer science, and he speaks English and Mandarin.

Batara Eto


Batara is co-founder and managing partner of East Ventures, one of Asia’s most active early-stage investors. Previously, Batara co-founded and was CTO of Mixi, a Japanese social network and game developer that he helped to take public. East Ventures made its first investment in 2010, and it recently raised its 8th fund, a seed-stage fund focused on digital companies emerging in the post-lockdown aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic. Batara has a degree in computer science, and he speaks English, Japanese and Bahasa Indonesian.

Roland Yau


Roland is Managing Partner of CoCoon Ignite Ventures, a venture capital fund focusing on investments in early stage technologies. In this role, Roland has led investments in companies including Cafe X, Soundbrenner and GoBee Bike. Roland is also an active advisor to his portfolio companies, large corporations, founders and other venture capital funds. Prior to establishing CoCoon Ignite Ventures, Roland worked on corporate financing, deal structuring and M&A at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, an international law firm. Roland has degrees in biology and law, and he speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

Alex Turnbull


Alex is CIO at Keshik Capital, a multi-strategy fund based in Singapore. Previously, Alex worked at leading global investment banks and hedge funds. He has close to two decades of experience managing multi-asset portfolios, and investing in public and private corporate securities and derivatives. Alex has a degree in economics, and he speaks English and Mandarin.

Kiyan Foroughi


Kiyan is the founder of Electric8, a digital product, growth, design and research firm that helps businesses in Southeast Asia find, scale and sustain product-market fit. After two years in investment banking in New York and three years in private equity in London, Kiyan co-founded and ran growth for Boticca, a content-led curated marketplace which he scaled and ultimately sold to retailers Wolf & Badger. Kiyan has a degree in economics, and he speaks English, French, Italian and Farsi.

Bjorn Lindfors

Adviser, Technology

Bjorn is a partner at Antler, a global VC and startup generator. He is a seasoned CTO with experience across startups, mid-market multinationals, and global technology firms. Focused heavily on product and growth, Bjorn uses test-and-learn experiments to build software that is scalable and commercially viable. Bjorn, who has managed teams in Malaysia, Singapore, Ukraine and Turkey, has an undergraduate degree in computer engineering, and a postgraduate degree in technology management. He speaks English and Swedish.

Alex Sifniotis

Adviser, Operations

Alex is a seasoned investor in and adviser to early- and growth-stage companies in Asia, Europe and North America. As both an adviser and an investor, he leverages 20 years of experience in operations and supply chain management, to help teams grow, improve their productivity, and increase profit margins. Previously, he founded one of Greece’s leading consulting firms, and he was COO for EMEA at TMF Group, a global corporate services firm. Alex has degrees in economics, logistics and supply chain management, and he is a Six Sigma black belt. He is fluent in English, Greek and French.

Kirsty Tsang

Adviser, Brand & Marketing

Kirsty is an entrepreneur who uses her creative skills in design and marketing to pinpoint go-to-market strategies, sharpen user experience for different client personas, and manage every facet of branding and marketing. Kirsty has worked with everything from B2C and B2B startups to global SaaS businesses. Most recently, she co-founded Guilt, a bakery specializing in premium cookies. Kirsty has a degree in design, and she speaks English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
